Standardisation support for your proposal

Standardisation is one of the strongest and most under-used routes to impact in Horizon Europe. Feeding your results into European and international standards shows evaluators a credible path from research to wide adoption, and it counts as a genuine research and innovation activity in its own right. We help you build that into your proposal and then deliver it in your project.

What we do

  • Identify the standards and technical committees your results can feed, across bodies such as ETSI, CEN-CENELEC, ISO and W3C/WAI.

  • Write the standardisation and pre-normative parts of your Excellence and Impact sections.

  • Design a standardisation work package or task, with deliverables, milestones and the right level of effort.

  • Connect your project to the relevant standards bodies and the people who run them.

  • Plan accessibility and design-for-all so your results meet EU requirements such as EN 301 549 and the European Accessibility Act.

Why we can do this

Our standardisation support is led by our Director, Dr Nikolaos Floratos:

  • 18 years in ETSI Technical Committee Human Factors, including six years as vice-chairman.

  • Expert on the revision of EN 301 549, the European standard behind the Web Accessibility Directive (EU) 2016/2102.

  • Standardisation work on smart cities and communities, ICT procurement (Mandate M 376), and ICT for people with cognitive disabilities.

  • ANEC representative to ETSI, W3C/WAI and the European Commission expert group on e-accessibility.
